Amorphous Cores
High saturation flux density for power-frequency magnetics
High saturation flux density for power-frequency magnetics
Amorphous alloy ribbon is wound into cores that combine high saturation flux density with low excitation current, which suits power-frequency transformers and reactors where size and no-load loss matter.
Cores are annealed after winding to restore magnetic properties, then finished with varnish, epoxy or a plastic case. Cut cores allow windings to be pre-made and the core inserted afterwards, which simplifies assembly for large sections.
- High saturation flux density
- Low excitation current
- Cut-core option for easy winding
- Case, varnish or epoxy finish

Cut / toroidWhere these cores are used
Selection is driven by frequency, flux density, temperature and assembly constraints rather than a catalogue part number.

Distribution transformers
Low no-load loss cores for grid and industrial transformers where efficiency drives operating cost.

Current transformers
High permeability cores for metering accuracy and protection circuits in switchgear and energy meters.

Audio output stages
Cut and toroidal cores used in output transformers where low distortion and wide bandwidth are required.
